The new practical guide “Building sustainably with SNBS 2.0. Buildings”

The new version of the Swiss Sustainable Building Standard (SNBS) has become the first “native” certifiable sustainability standard.

SNBS [Swiss Sustainable Building Standard] is an initiative of the Swiss Federal Energy Office (Office fédéral de l'énergie - OFEN), which is part of the 2012-2015 and 2016-2019 strategy of the Swiss federal council for sustainable development. This standard includes all standards, recommendations, data sheets, ordinances and other regulations of importance in Switzerland, and as such serves as a tool for planning assistance.

The version 2.0 guide of the Swiss Sustainable Building Standard is the first “native” certifiable sustainability standard. It covers all aspects related to building and helps the construction sector to contribute to sustainable development.

It targets project owners and planning managers, especially those who do not have a thorough knowledge of sustainable construction. By presenting the issues, the areas of intervention and the decisive measures of each project phase, it makes it possible to integrate the objectives of sustainable building into projects.
