Créature
Project details
Créature specializes in the recovery of raw materials and belongs to an initiative for sustainable development and responsible consumption with a simple idea: allow companies to recycle their advertising textiles by turning them into accessories. Unique pieces made by women undergoing socio-professional reintegration in the Geneva workshop.
Qualitative benefits
- Approximately 20 reintegration staff /trainees, 6 managers
- Semi-industrial production of thousands of pieces
- 70% of turnover comes from the recovery of advertising textiles from companies
- 25% of turnover comes from collaboration with local designers
- 5% of the turnover comes from the sales in the shop
Stages of the initiative
Créature, initially called Label Bobine, is a social enterprise created in 2011 by the association SOS Femmes. The mission of this association is to offer social and educational support to socially and professionally marginalized women.
Areas of activity
The workshop continues to grow, welcoming more women in Solidarity Employment and a CFC apprentice and trainees from various backgrounds.
Awareness by political authorities, private companies and the public makes it possible to make the activities of the workshop known to a broader audience. Expansion of the social and cooperative economy is boosting partnerships and extending collaborations.
The craft of sewing is suffering from a loss of visibility and profitability especially because of its complexity and its individuality. Créature attempts to overcome this obstacle in Geneva by presenting a new offer bringing together a pool of independent seamstresses wishing to pool their skills in a co-working space.
